WELCOME

Welcome to L-Squared Publishing, a subdivision of Talking Well Consulting.

This is the beginning of a great adventure for me and for TWC thanks for joining me.

I'm BettyAnn Leeseberg-Lange

I'm an accent modification coach. A retired actor and former professor, I've served as a dialect coach for professional theaters in Baltimore, Chicago, Missouri, and Washington, D.C.; various Disney films; and the HBO series The Wire. (Yes, I have actually met Idris Elba!) One of my earliest clients was Howard Stern, who, I want you to know, I taught to speak. I did *not* teach him what to say! I currently working with actors and clients around the world to control their negative voices as well as their accents. I live in the St. Louis area with my husband, Tom — who does not resemble OTTO in any way — where I enjoy jewelry making, gardening, and sitting on my screened-in porch listening to the creek and the many birds.

A THREE-STEP PROCESS FOR CONTROLLING YOUR NEGATIVE VOICE

Do you have a little (but oh so loud) voice in your head that tells you, “You’re incompetent” and “No one likes you”? Or that you’ll never achieve that goal or — my goodness — you simply can’t wear that outfit? That’s your OTTO. We all have an OTTO. We can learn to live with it, flinching from its barbed insults and cutting remarks. We can let it stop us from speaking up or trying something new. We can learn to talk back to OTTO. That’s exactly what BettyAnn Leeseberg-Lange teaches you in OTTO! A Three-Step Process for Controlling Your Negative Voice (It Has a Name and Everything!). Grab your crayons (yes, really) and get comfy. You’re about to discover a quick but incredibly effective way to deal with your OTTO every time it has something nasty to say to you.

Having worked with Ms. Leeseberg-Lange on many theatre projects, I am so impressed with her vast knowledge and instructional precision with dialects and vocal production. Her attention to the nuances of language and her patience with both students and professional actors alike make her an ideal teacher for all learners, from the novice public speaker to the seasoned theatre artist.

A fair warning for you: If you want or need to learn how to use your voice to its maximum potential, including development of any accent or dialect on the planet, but without really working at it, BettyAnn is not a good fit for you. But if you're ready for some serious, efficient, concentrated work that will give you results way beyond your expectations you don't need to look any further.

- Jeff Baker
DC actor and voiceover artist

BettyAnn is an amazing resource for anyone in need of dialect training. Her work is meticulous, enthusiastic, and supportive. As former student, I was able to eliminate my Midwestern accent which has been invaluable to my career as a working actress. I continue to use the lessons she taught me when approaching language choices for characters and I do so without fear. I am thankful every day for my time with BettyAnn.
